CedGallerySlider has a tab call "Resizing" that let you choose the best strategy when re-sizing image larger than the size of thumbnails you have set up

Under this Tab you will see the following:

The original picture displayed is 300 x 352 pixels There is 4 ways to re-size (mostly scale down) images, if you decide to create thumbnails of 150 x 150 pixels

  1. Gives you a thumbnail of the exact size, stretched or squished to fit the parameters. In this case it will be 150 x 150 pixels.
  2. Fits your thumbnail within your given parameters. It will not be any taller or wider than the size passed, whichever is larger. In this case it will be 128 x 150 pixels.
  3. Fits your thumbnail to the given parameters. It will be as tall or as wide as the size passed, whichever is smaller. In this case it will be 150 x 176 pixels.
  4. Gives you a thumbnail of the exact size, cropped from the center of the full sized image. In this case it will be 150 x 150 pixels with left and right black border as original image is not square.

Parameter Possible Values Default Value Description
Agressive Thumbnails Caching Yes / No Yes Re sizing big images is a costly operation. Joomla set as default a cache of 900 seconds, meaning that every 900 seconds the resize will happen again for all images in the current gallery. If true thumbnails never expire and get created only once, as long as thumbnails exist in cache, they wont be created again even if module cache expire. To force the creation of thumbnails either empty the cache or remove the file manually. Default is true
Lazy Loading 1..10 1 By default images will be loaded only when the slide comes. But an integer value (1, 2 or 3) indicates that how far of nearby slides should be loaded immediately as well, default value is 1.
